Time for Kolkata Knight Riders to turn it around

In the most unpredictable format of a game long celebrated for its 'glorious uncertainties', it's often about how you handle the troughs in the roller-coaster ride that defines a team's campaign.

After suffering back-to-back losses, defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders will be looking for inspiration to pick themselves up. It won't help that Sunrisers Hyderabad, the side they face at the Eden Gardens on Sunday, are now riding the crest with three wins from four matches.

For Gautam Gambhir and his 'knights' it will, of course, be good to be back home, where conditions have often confused opposition even as they lent themselves nicely to KKR's strengths. But, then, even as the likes of Sunil Narine, Laksmipathy Balaji and Rajat Bhatia look to revel on Eden's slow pitch, KKR need to ask themselves whether they are on the right track. From team selection to approach while batting or bowling, everything is crying for a review.
